The Disaster at Bhopal

Early in the morning of December 3, 1984, a Union Carbide pesticide plant leaked around 40 tons of methyl isocyanate gas into the air of Bhopal, a town in Madhya Pradesh, India. More than 500,000 people were exposed to the highly toxic substance. Remembering the Nicoll Highway Collapse

On April 20, 2004, a stretch of Nicoll Highway collapsed in Singapore, killing four men and leaving a 30-meter (98 ft) deep ravine. The incident occurred due to the collapse of a temporary retaining wall of a tunnel at the nearby Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station.
